The Host, by Stephenie Meyer
The Host, another book by Stephenie Meyer, the person who wrote the Twilight Saga. So far I've read to page, well, about 100. I got it yesterday. Trust me, this is a good book. Not like the Twilight Saga at all. Though, if you must know, the writing style is very similar. A caught a few phrases that were very close to a phrase I knew in Twilight, or something of the sort.
However, the story is not about a romantic vampire, who lives in a place that starts with "F" and ends with "orks", falling in love with a human, that by nature is obviously already kind of wacky, and then trying to protect said human from a various assortment of things, some of which being werewolves, other vampires, and her own sometimes-almost-suicidal self, and also, on top of all that, having to compete with a werewolf, someone who said human also loves, and who also was there for said human when the romantic vampire left said human, a mistake not easily healed. No, not even close to that.
Insted, this is a SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT FOR THE HOST, SPOILER ALERT
SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That gets a little tiring. Anyways, from where I left off.
story about an alien who lives inside someone's brain. Lovely, isn't it? These aliens, called souls, have taken over Earth and have invaded almost every single human mind on the planet. Souls are practically the epitome of perfect - they are kind, generous, friendly, and pretty much all things good. It's the story of a soul named Wanderer, and the host body, Melanie. I haven't finished it yet - but don't be expecting much more when I finsh it. My sister threatened me. No ruining The Host for her by talking about it. At all.
Grr.
